Video Description: It would feel almost impossible to have self-control at one point in my life, but the main reason why I keep feeling stuck in the same pattern, was because I thoughts my ways were better than God’s and that my own desires were going to get me to fulfill everything that I wanted in my life. But once I changed from my prideful ways, realized that God genuinely loves me , as well as seeking to know who God is and applying his character to my life, that’s when things started to change for my good. 1.Sin Nature: We are all born with a sinful nature, and so this automatically inclines us towards pride, selfishness, and actions that are not necessarily designed to God’s will.. And so this inherent habit makes it hard for us to consistently choose what is right and resist temptation. 2.Spiritual Immaturity: When you have a lack of spiritual growth, this can result in a weak foundation for resisting temptations. In order to have self-control, we need to actively pursue spiritual disclipines like Bible Study, prayer, and fellowship with other believers. 3.Neglecting the Holy Spirit The Bible teaches us that the Holy Spirits empowers believers to live godly lives, as well having self-control with our actions and thoughts. When we don’t rely on the holy Spirit’.s guidance and strength, that is when when we are more than likely to fall into our sinful desires. 4.Prioritizing Self: When we prioritize our own desires and ambitions over God’s will, that’s is when we are believing in our own abilities, relying on our own emotions then actually having faith in God. And so this will lead to you feeling hesitant to submit to God’s will, as well as desiring to control your own life.
