- Every time you have a habit of being prideful, this could lead to you not growing spiritually and affecting you from being able to walk in your purpose righteously. It’s like you will feel you don’t need God, but having this spirit will lead you down the wrong path. 1. Causes Spiritual Independence and Isolation: When you have pride, you will think that you can do everything on your own! Meaning you will think you don’t need God. This will lead to you not feeling that closeness with him. This will also leave you feeling spiritually alone and cut off from God’s guidance and grace. 2. Prevents Spiritual Growth and Learning: A prideful person rejects correction and feedback, and you may view it as a personal attack rather than an opportunity for improvement. When you resist correction, this prevents you from learning, growing, spiritually, and developing a deeper understanding of spiritual truths. 3. Shows Deception: Having pride can lead to blindness of your own sins. You will eventually find out that you have a self- righteous attitude, which is a spiritual hindrance that prevents you from extending the same grace you expect for yourself. 4. Destroys healthy relationships: When you have pride, it can come off as seeming arrogant, and could lead to you falling out with people within your spiritual community. Having a competitive spirit that arises from pride creates division rather than unity and love among other believers. 5. Shift Focus from God to self:. Instead of prioritizing God, a prideful spirit can turn the spotlight towards only yourself, leading to self- glorification and you may feel a constant desire for being admired.. this misplaced focus prevents true worship and devotion.
