You have to be willing to stop sinning, but you need something to replace it with. You may wonder what they are, but they simply are reading the word, seeking your purpose, praying intentionally, watching sermons for convictions, listening to worship music, serving others, etc. But you can’t do these things without being willing to change your ways, and making the effort to restore your relationship with God! 1. Unconfessed Sin: When you fall into sin, it’s separates you from God. As soon as you commit the sin, you need to ask God for forgiveness, confess your wrongdoing, and repent when you feel the urge to fall. If you don’t, it will lead you to feeling shame or guilt. When you experience this separation from God, it can manifest as feeling distant or unworthy of his presence. 2. Hardened Heart: When you constantly give into sin, it can weaken our ability to hear God’s voice or feel his presence. When you have a hardened heart, it makes you feel less sensitive to the conviction of the Holy Spirit, which will lead you to a disconnect from God and your purpose. 3. Neglecting intimacy with God: Just like any other relationship requires effort to maintain, our relationship with God needs to be a top priority. Spending time in prayer, studying the Bible, being involved in worship, are all great things to do when looking to find that closeness to God and feeling his presence. But when these things are neglected, it’s easy to feel distant from God. 4. Distractions: We live in a world where it’s full of distractions, that can pull our focus away from God. When you prioritize the worldly things constantly, over a relationship with God, then that’s how you know you are idolizing other things that cannot be over relationship with God.
