Video Description
Welcome to Hokkien Kuntao Mantis, your source for authentic martial arts training and practical self-defense techniques! In each video, we explore techniques from Hokkien Kuntao Mantis, combining tradition with modern applications. Whether you're a martial arts enthusiast or someone looking to improve your personal safety, our content is designed for you. In this video, you'll see me using a traditional bamboo stick to train for Iron Shin conditioning. This technique has been practiced for centuries and is an essential part of many martial arts, including various styles from Southeast Asia. It’s important to note that the stick used here is to toughen the shin bones for powerful strikes. The training process begins with smaller stages: First, you condition your shins using multiple small sticks wrapped together, which helps desensitize the skin and gradually introduce microfractures to the bones. Once you’ve built up a tolerance, you move to a solid bamboo stick. The next stage involves using a hammer, or sometimes referred to as an "Iron Mallet," to apply more intense impact to the shin. The repeated strikes lead to microfractures in the bone, which heal and build stronger, more resilient shins over time. The idea is that these fractures make your bones tougher, allowing you to strike with much more power. As part of the conditioning, it's important to use herbal oils like Minyak Gosok or Dip Da before and after training. These oils help soothe the shins, promote healing, and provide quicker recovery. Some of these oils also aid in the process of hardening the skin and increasing circulation to the area, which is crucial for managing the stress that the training puts on your body. With consistent practice, the Iron Shin technique can significantly enhance your ability to deliver devastating low kicks and sweeps, allowing you to strike with force and precision. This is a gradual process, requiring patience and dedication, but the results can be impressive once fully developed. 📢 Don't forget to subscribe for more martial arts content!
