- Wow! What an action packed 15 minutes with the thermal overlooking a paddock - rabbit, wallaby, ducks, wombat, fox and sambar deer all in one go! That’s a lot of free range Australian wildlife to see in one go, the ducks had already moved behind me by this stage so they aren’t caught in the thermals and there were also possums in the tree behind me not captured. Thermal and night vision is used to successfully cull a fox and a deer (both allowed to be culled using thermal equipment without any bag limits, on private property in my state) #sambardeer #victoria #australia using #thermalmonocular and #nightvisionscope. Please note: this is not considered hunting, this is pest control on private farm land. It’s beneficial to all involved and is an approved method to ethically keep numbers in check of species that are considered feral pests and are non native.
